It all begins with an idea and ends with a printer

When I first added a 3D printer to my woodworking shop I had some grand ideas of what I could do with it. The first year was sort of a bust because I spent more time upgrading my Creality CR10 then I did making anything for the shop. That change over a year ago when I picked up two Prusa i3 MK3S+printers and designed the brackets that secure all of my dust collection piping to my shops ceiling. Since my shop has low ceilings it meant that I needed the pipe as close to the ceiling as possible, which meant a custom solution.

It was a game changing moment for me because I finally went from printing the designs of others, to making the things I needed. As a result I have spent the last year making my life easier printing jigs, hangers, parts, etc... which are all specific to my woodshop’s needs. It always amazes me how fast the 3D printers let me go from idea to prototype and they are a huge part of my shop now.
